This policy explains how Margin Shift handles personal information, business information, and financial account information collected through marginshift.tech, client engagements, and applications we operate for workflow assessment, automation, reporting, integration, and advisory work.
Margin Shift is a Tennessee-based sole proprietorship operated by Charles Phillip Blackburn. Business inquiries and privacy requests may be sent to hello@marginshift.tech. The official Margin Shift LinkedIn Page is linkedin.com/company/margin-shift.
We collect information you provide directly, including name, email address, phone number, company name, role, message details, engagement materials, documents, and workflow context. If you authorize a financial-data connection, we may receive account, balance, transaction, identity, statement, or related data from a financial-data provider for the specific use case presented to you at the time of consent.
We use information to respond to inquiries, deliver requested services, operate client-approved workflows, build and test integrations, troubleshoot support issues, improve security, and comply with legal or contractual obligations. We do not use financial account information for unrelated marketing or advertising.
Before financial account data is collected, the application or workflow will describe the data categories requested, the purpose of the connection, and the provider used to connect the account. We collect and process that data only after the user or authorized business representative gives consent through the connection flow or engagement process.
We share financial account data only with service providers needed to operate the authorized workflow, with the client or user who authorized the connection, or as required by law. We do not sell, rent, or share financial account data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Form submissions are processed by a self-hosted handler on our server and sent to our team by email. Emails sent to or from hello@marginshift.tech are handled through Google Workspace.
This site uses limited analytics to understand page activity and improve the website. Analytics are configured for business-site measurement, not for selling personal information. Browser settings may let you restrict cookies or similar technologies.
If and when you choose to connect a LinkedIn account, LinkedIn Page, advertising account, event, or other authorized LinkedIn resource to a Margin Shift application, LinkedIn provides only the data covered by permissions you approve. Before access begins, the authorization flow identifies the requested permissions and intended use. We request the minimum permissions needed for the selected feature, and a materially different use or additional permission requires additional authorization.
Depending on the feature you enable and the permissions LinkedIn makes available, LinkedIn data may include a member identifier, name, profile image, headline, and email address if provided through OpenID Connect; Page or organization information and authorized administrator roles; authorized posts, comments, reactions, and aggregate analytics; authorized advertising account, campaign, reporting, and conversion-event information, including hashed identifiers where supported; information a member voluntarily submits through a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form or event registration; and verification categories or status a member chooses to share through Verified on LinkedIn. Margin Shift does not receive your LinkedIn password.
We use LinkedIn data only to provide the feature requested or authorized by the member, Page administrator, advertising-account administrator, event administrator, or client. These purposes may include sign-in, owned-Page administration, approved publishing or moderation, reporting, event administration, conversion measurement, routing member-submitted leads, data portability, archiving, and consented verification. We do not sell LinkedIn data. We do not combine LinkedIn Community or member data with unrelated third-party data for prospecting, profile enrichment, audience building, automated messaging, or mass outreach.
LinkedIn data may be shared only with the user or organization that authorized the connection, service providers needed to operate the authorized feature, LinkedIn where required to support the integration, or parties required by law. Service providers may process data only for the contracted purpose and are subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
We follow the shortest retention period required by the applicable LinkedIn product terms and our own business need. Unless a LinkedIn product term expressly permits otherwise, cached profile data about other members is kept for no more than 24 hours, member social-activity data for no more than 48 hours, and Page or advertising administration and reporting data for no more than one year. Information a member voluntarily submits through a Lead Gen Form may be retained only as needed for the authorized CRM, follow-up, service, legal, accounting, and security purposes described at collection. Shorter legal, contractual, client, or user-directed limits control.
You may revoke a Margin Shift application's LinkedIn access through your LinkedIn settings or the applicable application connection controls. Revocation stops future access but may not automatically delete data already retained for an authorized purpose. To request deletion of retained LinkedIn data, follow our Data Deletion Request process or email hello@marginshift.tech.
If a Verified on LinkedIn feature is enabled, consented verification information is used only for the disclosed trust or account-confirmation purpose. It is not used as a background check, know-your-customer determination, or the sole basis for employment, credit, housing, insurance, or other regulated eligibility decisions.
We retain personal information and client records only as long as needed for the active engagement, authorized workflow, support, security, legal, accounting, and business-continuity purposes. Financial account data used for testing or integration work is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer needed for the authorized use case, unless a longer retention period is required by law or by a client-approved recordkeeping obligation.
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by emailing hello@marginshift.tech or following our Data Deletion Request process. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited records when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.
We use documented access controls, multi-factor authentication, encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive data, password management, private-network controls, vulnerability review, and audit-ready security monitoring practices. More detail is available in our Security Practices.
For privacy or data-deletion questions, email hello@marginshift.tech.
